New Zelda: Skyward Sword Trailers Heat Things Up

Nintendo has released more information about the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, including new locations and items. The new details are listed below, followed by the four new trailers for the game. Certain sections will be marked with story spoilers, so read at your own risk.

A couple of new items were revealed in Nintendo’s press release. The first of these were the Digging Mitts, which let Link dig up certain parts of the ground in order to find hidden items. The second was the Harp, the game’s musical instrument, which will have various unknown functions as the game progresses; a trailer showcasing the Harp can be seen below.

The following section contains spoilers for the story. After battling Ghirahim in the game’s first temple, Link travels to a new location, Eldin Volcano. Here, he meets with the Mogma, a subterranean race that inhabits the volcano. Here, Link will enter the Earth Temple, whose challenges include the ball-rolling mechanic seen in the game’s original trailer. The level boss is named Scaldera, and it chases Link up an inclined slope while spewing large fireballs at him.

The first trailer shows off a new mechanic known as Goddess Cubes, which are cubes that Link can strike with his sword to activate.
