Here’s an additional number: Super Mario 3D Land, a 3DS exclusive, sold 625,000 copies last month, putting it a little below the sales of Skyward Sword, and SM3DL had a one-week advantage. Both games, however, managed to make the list of the top ten best-selling individual SKUs.
At first I was a bit disappointed that Skyward Sword wasn’t higher on the list, but it was released near the end of the month, which makes it harder to compete. I wonder if that game will continue to sell as strongly through December.
Overall sales last month were $3 billion, which is a record high for the industry. Interestingly, PC gaming only made up $70 million of that number, which seems like a very small amount. Apparently Steam doesn’t release sales data, though, so that number probably doesn’t reflect overall PC sales that well.
Are there any numbers for games farther down on the list? Mainly Nintendo games I am looking for.
