As you run through the platforming levels, shooting at enemies, you can press a button to move from 2D into 3D space, in order to solve puzzles or track down hidden enemies.
Game Boy: Tetris, $3.99
The world’s most famous puzzle game is now available on the Nintendo eShop. Drop falling blocks into place, completing lines to score points. The Game Boy version has both a marathon mode and various smaller levels to be completed.

I’m surprised it took so long to get Tetris available. It’s freaking Tetris.
