eShop: VVVVVV, $7.99
The hit indie game is now available on 3DS. Captain Viridian needs to track down the five remaining members of his ship’s crew in a strange new dimension. Instead of jumping, you have the ability to flip gravity and walk on the ceiling, which you must skillfully use to get past traps. The 3DS version includes plenty of new Player Levels, which are new challenges designed by famous game developers.
Game Boy: Bionic Commando, $3.99
You are Rad Spencer, a commando trained in the use of special grappling guns. Your mission is to infiltrate the headquarters of the powerful Doraize Army, in order to save your comrade Super Joe. Shoot and grapple your way past enemies in 19 levels.
DSiWare: Cake Ninja, $4.99/500 Nintendo Points
The cake ninja is focused on only one task: cutting cake. Slide the stylus across the screen to slice the cakes that appear; see how long you can go before you miss one. You can also play this game against a friend.
DSiWare: Slingo Supreme, $7.99/800 Nintendo Points
The bingo/slots combination game is back for another round. In addition to standard play, this game lets you create up to 16,000 different levels, and offers new challenges every day. This title also introduces Devil Mini Games, where the player can take on the Devil himself.
WiiWare: Carmen Sandiego Adventures in Math: The Big Ben Burglary, 600 Nintendo Points
Carmen Sandiego is back, and has pulled off another impossibly huge heist. Travel the world solving math puzzles in order to track her down and recover the stolen goods. You can play Story Mode, practice math skills in Practice Mode, or challenge friends and family in the six-player Multiplayer Mode. This game focuses on grades 4 and 5.
If you haven’t played VVVVVV yet, this is a great time to pick it up. The game isn’t horribly long, but it’s amazingly fun. I’ve played through it several times already on PC.
