Previously the pink colored Nintendo 3DS system was available only as a bundle with nintendogs + cats. Now Nintendo will be offering the system devoid of any mutts or felines, but for the same price at $169.99.
The system will lose the pack in game and come with the normal accessories a standard Nintendo 3DS is packed with. Those looking to get their hands on this colored system will only need to wait until February 10th.
This is an extremely strange move to me considering the pink bundle was the same price and was recently launched on December 4th.
hmmm….the price should be lower seeing as to how the game isn’t bundled with the system.
That was my thought as well. Or something to make the value perception higher.
But seeing as how the bundle was limited and hardly anyone I know even know of its existence except when I tell them about it, this is an okay move I think. I don’t think Nintendo would wanna make this cheaper than the standard 3DS models out right now. Seeing as how Pink is always associated with being a “girls” color I see 3 possible outcomes. Either males suck it up and buy the pink one to save money (I’m male and don’t care if my system is pink. In fact, I’ll probably pick one up). Suck it up and shell out the extra dough for a “more manly color” or they just don’t buy one at all until the “manly colors” reduce in price. I could foresee them choosing option 3 more than anything.
The thing is, that bundle is still available on sites like Toys R Us. Hardly a hole in the wall type store with a bargain. I just don’t see how Nintendo should be allowed to pass on this one when they just recently released a value bundle.
