eShop: Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, free demo
The classic PS2 game is remade on 3DS. Special operative Naked Snake enters a Soviet jungle during the Cold War in order to stop a madman from starting World War III. Wear special camouflage to hide from sight, use medical supplies to treat your injuries, and even kill local wildlife for food. The full game will be released on February 21.
NES (eShop): Super Mario Bros., $4.99
Super Mario Bros. is one of the most popular and famous games of all time. Run through 32 levels, jumping on enemies and clearing gaps in order to save Princess Toadstool from King Koopa. 3DS Ambassadors can log onto the eShop to receive a free update to this game, which offers a different Home menu icon and restore points.
DSiWare: iSpot Japan, $1.99/200 Nintendo Points
This “find the differences” title takes the player on a tour of Japan. Over 150 picture are available, tasking the player with finding 3, 4 or 5 differences depending on the difficulty level. The game also offers fun facts about the country and its landmarks.
WiiWare: Hulu Plus, free ($7.99/month subscription)
Wii owners now have access to the Hulu Plus service. Those who sign up for a subscription will have access to numerous movies and new episodes of currently-running television shows. The application can be downloaded for free, and Wii owners who don’t currently have a Hulu Plus account get access to a free two-week trial.
Genesis (Wii Shop): Strider, 800 Nintendo Points
The year is 2048, and Grandmaster Meio has control of the world. It’s up to Hiryu, a member of the special ninja agents known as Striders, is on a mission to assassinate Meio and restore peace to the world. Jump, slide and fight your way through the five levels of the game, armed with your plasma sword known as a Cypher.
I’m downloading the demo now to see how it is, though I assume it will be awesome. I’m also updating my Ambassador version of Super Mario Bros. as restore points will be handy.
