Harmonix has announced that, starting on April 1st, the Wii will temporarily stop receiving new downloadable songs, due to changes in DLC publishing agreements. This outage affects Wii owners in North America and Europe, as well as PlayStation 3 owners in Europe; North American PS3 systems, as well as the Xbox 360, will not be affected. Harmonix hopes to resume DLC service by the summer; songs that are currently available for purchase or export will not be affected.
This is pretty unfortunate, but the size of Rock Band’s DLC library is unprecedented, so unexpected things are bound to happen. I wonder if this means the 360 is getting boring DLC for a couple of months.
