The Pokémon Company has issued a press release announcing dates and locations for the Pokémon Regional Spring Championship. The competitions will take place on April 14th and 15th; the Trading Card Game competitions will begin on the 14th, while the video game tournament will start on the following day. Winners from the Spring Regional Championships will have the opportunity to go to the U.S. National or Canadian National Championships, which in turn can lead to the World Championships, which will take place this August in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
“With invitations to the Pokémon U.S. and Canadian National Championships on the line, the Pokémon Spring Regional Championships promise to feature some of the most exciting competition of the year,” said J.C. Smith, marketing director for The Pokémon Company International. “The Spring Regional Championships are not only premiere events for our new and veteran players, but destinations for our entire Pokémon community to meet and have fun.”
The tournaments will take place in seven different cities around the U.S., as well as one in Canada. Interested Pokémon players can go to the official website to find a tournament location near them.
I’d be interested in participating if there was one near me, even though I’d be completely crushed.
