Disney Interactive Media Group has announced that Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS this fall. This new game utilizes the unique 3DS features in its gameplay, including the use of the touch screen to draw new objects and characters into the game world.
The game pays tribute to a much older title on the Sega Genesis, Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse; the original castle from the classic game has been lost to the Wasteland, and the master of the castle, the witch Mizrabel, is plotting to escape by draining the life from current toons. ”We’re honored to be able to pay tribute to this classic video game by creating a title that truly takes advantage of the unique capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS, putting the magic of Disney and the historic Castle of Illusion in the palm of your hands,” said Warren Spector, vice president and creative director of Junction Point, the game’s developer.
