Fanime 2012 Saturday Cosplay & Report

While walking the halls on Friday, I thought that there were a decent amount of people. That number seemed to at least double on Saturday with the hall bursting with attendees both cosplaying and not. There were also various photography meetups happening outside with huge cosplay groups gathering for one particular series or another. Many taking the opportunity to strike silly poses while laughing and grinning.

There were also more panels to visit, including one that picked apart Square Enix’s games. This particular panel focused on the Final Fantasy franchise and the panelist’s complaints throughout the series from Final Fantasy VIII onward. They also briefly touched on the Kingdom Hearts, though the opinions both from the panelists and the room varied wildly.

On the last trip to the gaming room for the day, it was still full of life. Many people gathered in circles playing Ninja, a game where the goal is to slap another person’s hand in one move. Others gathered around an individual with a fishing pole of sorts that had a single Kit Kat bar attached to it, hoping to be chosen to enjoy a bit of candy. The handheld section towards the end of night though was barely occupied, save for a few Nintendo 3DS players.

Check back tomorrow for photos from Sunday, including a few from the masquerade and a video!
