Pre E3 Nintendo Direct Summary

For those who weren’t able to view Nintendo Direct, we’ve put together a brief summary of what came out of the video below.

- Name originates from NES/Famicom

- GamePad has analog sticks
- More comfortable grip on the back
- Has NFC Reader/Writer button
- Can be a TV remote
- Wii Fit with GamePad teased
- Wii U Pro Controller introduced
- Video Chat
- Text with other users on the controller
- Mii Wara Wara
- Tiles, Mii gathers around games they’re playing
- Miiverse introduced
- Miiverse can be activated during play
- Miis can convey facial expressions on text
- Miiverse doesn’t need the TV
- Miiverse Social “window”
- Miiverse on browser/phones
- Miiverse on 3DS, PC, web enabled mobile device
- Mario gameplay shown briefly (could be from E3 2011 version)
- Nintendo Network supposed to link everything together
- Internet browser built in, can share on TV
- Curtains for “unveiling” web browsing if you want to keep it a surprise to others in the room
- “Together, better” sort of a motto
- Iwata will guest tweet on Twitter this week
