Super Short Nintendo Direct: NSMB2

Nintendo has just released a new Nintendo Direct video in Japan, an event that usually covers a wide variety of upcoming games, as well as some other system information. This newest video, however, is unusually specific and extremely short: the total length is 6:34, and the only subject of discussion is downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. 2.

New DLC packs have been confirmed for Japan only, and each pack has a different theme. One level pack is filled with even more gold coins than usual, one is for only the hardcore Mario players, and one pack will track your scores and post the worldwide leaders on Nintendo’s website. Each one costs 200 yen (roughly $2, the cost of a Rock Band song) and will be downloadable in Japan on October 2; American fans who desperately need more Mario will have to wait a bit longer.

If you’re interested in seeing the levels while Brain Age Iwata talks in Japanese, the video is below:

I’m not disappointed that they talked about NSMB2, I don’t mind that game. I’m disappointed that was the only thing that was talked about. I desperately need more information on Professor Layton.
