Christina Aguilera’s new music video for “Your Body” was released to her official VEVO channel for public consumption. What you might vaguely care about is the usage of an NES Advantage controller placed at the beginning of the video. Aguilera’s hand is shown grabbing the joystick, aggressively tugging it to and fro, perhaps an innuendo. All the while, the rest of the buttons on it remain untouched. The camera then shows her face, fixated on the screen. We are then shown some vague form of a color Atari-like game being played on an old CRT monitor. How this is supposed to work? I have no idea, since I’m fairly certain Aguilera probably wouldn’t go looking for an NES to USB convertor.
The whole sequence happens in the span of a few seconds and moves onto more mainstream pop bits.
Did they insert the controller in there for marketing, or simply cool points for going “retro”? Watch and judge for yourself below.
