Dream Pinball 3D is another prime example of the growing problem of shovelware on the Wii. It certainly had potential, but ultimately it just falls flat on its face. This pinball simulator boasts six different tables, multiple kinds of balls which offer differing physics, and... well, that’s it. It’s hard to determine where exactly I should start with this review, since almost every aspect of the game is broken.

We may as well start with the most important part of any pinball game - the tables. The tables are all grounded in reality, designed as though thy could be real tables in a pool hall. Sorry Pokemon Pinball fans, you won’t find any hidden tables or cool surprises here. The tables don’t even differ from each other that much. They all have unique themes, such as an underwater one, a monster one, and a Medieval one. However, they’re really not that different from each other in the end. Some are more complicated than others (if you judge complexity by the amount of paths they can cram into one space), but ultimately they all have multiball, they all have the same kinds of multipliers, and they all get boring pretty quickly.

On every board there is a way to change your ball for one made of another material like gold or wood. Each material supposedly offers different ball physics - an admirable stab at depth, but unfortunately I never really noticed much of a difference between them.

Our Rating for Review: Dream Pinball 3D
4.5
Single Player
I have nothing against pinball, but I do have something against BORING pinball.
4.0
Multiplayer
The same thing as single player, except now you have to suffer up to four times as long.
5.0
Controls
They would have been fine if it wasn’t for the camera button. Shaking the Wiimote to bump the table works great.
5.0
Graphics
Passable, but nothing special.
1.0
Sound
Awful music and even worse sound effects that are repeated endlessly.
3.5
Replay Value
There’s no reason to keep playing, unless you want to beat your high score or see what it feels like to be a self-flagellist.
4.0
Overall
The very definition of shovelware.
