Simply put, Corruption is exactly what gamers have been waiting for. It’s clear that Retro Studios has gone the extra mile for this final entry in the Metroid Prime series; the meat of the game is brilliant, of course, but their attention to detail is really what makes the title shine. If you’re a Metroid Prime veteran, you’ll find plenty more of the same goodness, with some enjoyable improvements; if you’re new to the series, this is a fine place to start. You may miss a tiny bit of the story behind the Phazon, but it won’t affect your game too much.
A word of warning, however: if casual gaming is more your thing, like Wii Sports or Big Brain Academy, then you should probably rent before you buy. This is definitely a game made for gamers, and good puzzle-solving skills, battle skills, and a lot of perseverance and dedication are necessary to really enjoy Corruption.
