Cecil is a former Dark Knight of Baron. Rosa is a White Mage. Ebony and ivory anyone? Rosa harbors a secret crush on Cecil, who is best friends with Kain, who harbors a secret crush on Rosa. It all seems very complicated, but it all works out in the end. Cecil and Rosa get married at the end of their adventure, becoming the new King and Queen of Baron, while Kain leaves to go be emo at Mt. Ordeals.

8. Solid Snake and Meryl Silverburgh (Metal Gear Solid)

The couple that bleeds together, stays together. Well, for a couple years anyway. During their stay on Shadow Moses Island, the couple fends off snipers, mind control, torture and “things even worse than that.” Although the exact details of Snake and Meryl’s affair are currently unknown, things may be cleared up when they both appear in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots later this year.

7. Shion Uzuki and Allen Ridgeley (Xenosaga)

Poor Allen. For three agonizingly long games, he yearned for the love and companionship of Shion, who remained blissfully ignorant of his less-than-subtle advances the entire time. Shion, who had eyes only for her (presumed) late boyfriend, Kevin Winnicot, finally came around in the end, but not before Allen took his fair share of beatings (including one from said dead boyfriend). As the trilogy comes to a close, the couple sets off together to find Lost Jerusalem, and presumably, find Allen a pair of balls.
