3. Squall Leonhart and Rinoa Heartilly (Final Fantasy VIII)

When Maxim, a legendary swordsman, meets Selan, the leader of the Parcelyte army, it’s hardly love at first sight. Selan resents having to fight alongside the warrior, as she values her independence. However, as time passes, she learns to trust and care for Maxim, a fact that Maxim’s childhood friend Tia resents. Midway through the game, however, Maxim and Selan get married and have a child together. Wanting only peace for their baby, the couple sets out to rid the Sinistrals from the world once and for all… Their final sacrifice is one of the most emotional moments in all of gaming.
