When Gwendolyn, a valkyrie, awakens to find herself married to the Shadow Knight Oswald, she isn’t exactly thrilled. It seems her father promised her hand in marriage to the Knight in exchange for his services. However, Gwendolyn soon begins to fall in love with her arranged suitor, and the two eventually pledge their undying love to each other after many battles. It’s a good thing too, because they’re the last two humans on Earth, and things would have been pretty awkward if they hated each other. The tenderness and love these two show each other throughout the game has earned them the top spot in this countdown, and the title of “Most Romantic Video Game Couple.”
