In the realm of video games, there are three different tiers of licensed games. First, you have your higher-quality licensed games, which would be things like the Naruto: Clash of Ninja series, perhaps; these are rather few and far between. More common are games based off of popular cartoon shows, or movies, like many games currently on the Nintendo DS. Then there’s jackass: the game.

jackass: the game is practically the definition of cash-in, as production value is almost nowhere to be seen. The gameplay is riddled with errors, the premise is ridiculous, and the whole thing gets boring after the first level or so. Even beyond that, it makes me wonder if the developers have ever actually seen an episode of jackass. We’ll get to all of these issues shortly.

Our Rating for Jackass: The Game Review
3.2
Single Player
Repetitive missions, bad collision detection, overly simple sophomoric premise, and bad minigames.
0.1
Multiplayer
Unable to test this feature.
4.1
Controls
The camera is okay, but moving is generally clunky. Using a launcher is slightly entertaining, but aggravating in your relative inability to control where you land.
4.7
Graphics
Nothing’s really outright ugly, but everything’s incredibly bland.
4.8
Sound
The same few songs over and over gets old quickly.
2.2
Replay Value
If you actually want to go back to this game, there are some suits to collect, and powerups to (painstakingly) acquire; you won’t want to.
2.9
Overall
This game is just barely playable, and fun for a total of five minutes.
