So with all this great story, and the entertaining court segments, what is the replay value like? That will vary from person to person. I personally found subsequent playthroughs to be rather tedious, as I keep wanting to get to the good bits, but all the rest I felt like I was trudging through; luckily there is a fast-forward button that lets you zoom quickly through anything you’ve completed before. Others, however, will find playing through it again a lot of fun. Perhaps time is a factor; I’m currently replaying the original PW after maybe a year or so, and I’m having lots of fun. So the replay value will vary, but it’s easily worth the money for that first playthrough.
My final verdict: if you haven’t played the first two games, don’t think about getting Trials And Tribulations just yet. Otherwise, this game gets a very enthusiastic Yay! for excellent storytelling and brilliant, though esoteric, gameplay. If you’re a fan of the first two games, PW3 will deliver everything you want and then some; if you’re new to the series, you should work your way up to it. In either case, this is an entry that should absolutely not be missed.
