The controls were alright, there really isn’t much to complain about here. The camera behaved and doing things wasn’t too bad.
The battle system was nice, but I fail to see how it takes several seconds for a person to use their weapon, maybe for guns and bows but to give every weapon a charge time is a little weird. <_< I’m not sure though it may have just been because I played Rogue Galaxy before this, where attacks were instantaneous(albeit that game degrades to button mashing fairly quickly). Maybe if I played FF12 before rogue galaxy I wouldn’t be complaining about it as much. It helps to turn the battle speed up or whatever, but i did still find it annoying. I did have a problem with casting spells at time, things degraded to a true turn-based setup if you cast too many high level ones in a row. Though it doesn’t seem to apply to your foe who is beating your face in while your characters stand around staring at each other wondering why they even bothered casting flare. <_< Not that spells are all that great, with a few exceptions, I typically only used ’attack’. Running around the world is a little annoying, since there didn’t seem to be any free warp thing. The teleporting save crystals are nice, but in some places they weren’t in very good locations and you still needed to run a little bit to get to where you want to be.
I thought the gambits were going to be stupid and annoying, but they’re actually very useful and make playing a little more enjoyable. At first I wanted to control at least one character and had them off for whoever i was controlling, but i eventually gave in and set everyone up. I was glad I didn’t have to go into the menu every time to recast my buffs and other things. The characters did it themselves whenever said buff wore out. Still had to pay attention and assign orders and stuff, because I didn’t bother to ’perfect’ them
The license board is the thingy you use to learn moves and stuff and I didn’t like that either. It makes every single the character the same. There is really nothing major that sets them apart from one another. I’d prefer to have people with specific tasks, but whatever. It isn’t very restrictive when it comes to the weapon/armor part. I never really needed to get a specific location to use a weapon(then again I only used like 4 weapons throughout the entire game.)
The story really isn’t that great. It starts off very slow and there’s a slight increase in it at the end of the game, but it really wasn’t enough to save it. Also, it seems that most of the characters traveling with you could easily be dropped and have no effect on the story whatsoever. Honestly, only one of the characters made sense to be running around, maybe 2. Most of the characters were enjoyable, even if the story they were involved in was sub-par.
All in all it was ok and nothing more. <_<
7/10
FFTA2
I have completed 30 quests. I am trying to unlock some classes, but it’s hard when the white mages don’t seem to have any abilities aside from cure. <_< NEED ONE MORE ABILITY FOR SAGE.
I love moogles D:
The Simspons game
Played the first level or two.
Camera is shit, jumping is sometimes a little shoddy.
I think it said I was 52% done overall(getting everything). I only have 2 stages left, but I plan to go back and finish it 100%.
It’s evoked a giggle or two and the video game humor is really nice. I was fairly surprised. Tomorrow I’ll finish the story I guess.
FFTA2:
Uh, I did the bomb mission I think. >_>
I really don’t like having to unlock classes to be able to use them, but whatever. I am still mad though, because the ones i want are still ?????. I think I made up my mind as to how I want everyone so after I get the characters I’ll be needing to finish out my team I’ll work on moving on in the story. I have a mountain of weapons I can learn skills from so I may as well try some things out.
The Land has i think death strike only, I’m trying to get stunner. I boosted some of his stats. The protector has front guard and provoke, trying to get smite. Gunner has all three elemental shots and haltshot. haltshot seems to have been a waste. Medic has cure and a maxed scavenge. Thanks to that making money is a little easier. The survialist has trueshot, number, and poisoner. I think i’ll work on getting Apollon next.
As far as equipment goes I did what I usually do. Focus on offense instead of defense. I need to stop doing that. >_>
I was a little pissed because a mini-event thing robbed me of my only warp wire(only way to instantly get out). So I was terrified of dying before getting out. I got out though.
On my next trip through a cactus enemy dropped a ’cactus log’ and while i was being immature i accidentally walked into an FOE and then I dropped a cactus log.
Seiken Densetsu 3: Just beat my first God-Beast, the ice one. Getting to it wasn’t too hard, and defeating it was just Hawk’s fire spell spam + Angela’s Explode spam + Duran’s Heal Light when needed. Still, I think I’m quite underleveled as my party is 25 and the enemies in the next areas are all 30. =
