Just found that Jerry Reed has died. RIP Snowman. I guess a lot of you have no idea whoi he even was, unless you saw Smokey and the Bandit, but Jerry Reed was just one hell of a picker.

Here’s a great one with Chet. It’s not hard to find footage of Jerry playing a Tele, but how often have you ever seen Chet Atkins with one?
Chet was effortless, and flawless. But sometimes his stuff is a bit sterile for me, and Jerry always added a little life to the mix and Chet knew it. One things for sure, those two were true masters of fingerstyle (or Travis picking, or whatever you want to call it). This guy (Scotty Anderson) is too, just not so famous ...
Did you know that Chet actually "cheated?" <_< Merle Travis actually only used his thumb and index finger, but when Chet heard him Travis-picking, he said to himself that that would be impossible. Thus, he used an extra finger (or more) >_>.
That one guy...he’s got skill, but that one really REALLY quick run...don’t like it so much. <_<
