Master System: Fantasy Zone, 500 Wii Points

The first port of Sega’s classic arcade game, Fantasy Zone is possibly Sega’s most famous schmup game. Aliens are invading your homeland, the Fantasy Zone, and you are to take control of the Opa-Opa and set out to stop them; destroy all the enemy bases in each level, and you’ll advance to the superhuge level boss. As you play, you can collect currency to spend at the equip station, upgrading your weaponry.

Genesis: Mega Turrican, 800 Wii Points

The sequel to Super Turrican, also recently released, has now hit the Virtual Console. The Machine has taken over the galaxy, and it’s up to you and your super-powerful Turrican suuit tto take care of business. This time around, there’s a bit more emphasis on shooting action, but you’ll still be exploring the nooks and crannies of these levels to obtain all the powerups you can, as you progress through the game’s fifteen levels.

Is it bad that I can’t remember hearing of Opa-Opa before? That said, I really want to try out one of the Turrican games.
