Today, BusinessWeek announced their top 50 innovative companies and Nintendo is close to the top. Ranking 7th, Nintendo beat out Playstation 3 maker Sony, but didn’t manage the same with Xbox 360 manufacturer Microsoft. Here are the top 10 results:
Rank Company
1 Apple
2 Google
3 Toyota Motor
4 General Electric
5 Microsoft
6 Tata Group
7 Nintendo
8 Procter & Gamble
9 Sony
10 Nokia
For those interested in the full list, it’s available on BusinessWeek’s website. While Nintendo placed 7th in the overall standings, it’s interesting to note that in the Asia/Europe vote the company was 5th.
Apple? Seriously? When was the last time they truly innovated anything? To be fair, most so called innovative companies take a technology and generally try to make them better.
[Update] - It’s important to note that the reason Microsoft is higher on the list isn’t due to their gaming side, unlike Nintendo and Sony.
