Comcast has announced that they have partnered with Nintendo to give a free Nintendo Wii to those who sign up for the Comcast Preferred Plus or Premier Triple Play package before August 17, 2008. The aforementioned package includes "Comcast Digital Cable with On Demand and premium channels; Comcast Digital Voice®, offering unlimited local and domestic long-distance calling and 12 popular calling features plus enhanced voicemail, and; Comcast High-Speed Internet with PowerBoost®", according to their press release; the press release emphasizes the online nature of the Wii, and how it goes perfectly with their offer of high-speed internet. You’ll have to move fast, though, as the press release also notes that the number of Wii systems they can give away is limited, and the offer only is valid while supplies last.
Well here’s a somewhat reliable way of getting your hands on a Wii, while supplies last, anyhow. This is a pretty clever promotion; I’d say game companies should do this more often, but this is probably most effective since Wiis are so hard to come by. Still.
