SNES: Super Turrican, 800 Wii Points

This action platformer, developed by Factor 5 (responsible for the Rogue Squadron series of games), derives its formula partially from the Metroid series and partly from more action-heavy games. As Bren McGuire, your task is to travel about the planet Katakis and free it from the grip of The Machine, source of all things evil. The weapons you possess include a Freeze-Beam, which freezes enemies, and a grappling hook to let you swing from the ceiling. Unlike Metroid, this game features twelve separated, self-contained levels, but each still has that labyrinthian feel, and challenges you to find all the secret passages and hidden spots within.

This is a game I may pick up once I get my hands on more money; I enjoy Metroid games and this looks to be in a somewhat similar vein.
