A trio of companies, Harmonix, MTV Games, and EA Games have officially announced Rock Band will be hitting Wii.  Sixty-three songs will be in this iteration, including five bonus tracks.  No mention was made of downloadable content.

The special edition bundle of the game which will contain drums, a guitar, and a microphone will set users back $169.99.  Unlike other versions of the game on other platforms, the standalone instruments will be available day one, though no price point was announced as of yet for those.  Instruments will function just as they would on other versions with the Wii Remote not adding in other control mechanisms.

Rock Band
for Wii will be available June 22nd in the US and Canada.

I own the Xbox 360 version and love banging on the drums.  I wonder though if this isn’t going to be just another PS2 port since a comment in this announcement thread mentioned vaguely that the PS2 version was developed by a different outfit and not Harmonix themselves.
