Eidos Interactive today announced they will be publishing Gauntlet for the Nintendo DS.  Dubbed a "modern reworking," Gauntlet will be a recreation of the arcade classic made specifically for the system.  The new features though are what sets this apart from other remakes, with multiplayer over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and Voiceover IP.  Gauntlet will also utilize the full visual space available and use both screens to display the dungeons players will be trudging through.

According to IGN, the game is set to be released in the US on June 30th.

Newly released screenshots can be seen by clicking on "Media" on the gamebar.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this with a few people and dungeon crawl.  Haven’t played any Gauntlet game in awhile so this is certainly something to look forward to.

I saw this on IGN the other day. I’m debating if I should get this or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2.

This looks better, but PMD2 comes out sooner. lol
I’m leaning more towards gauntlet for now though. I don’t have enough money for both either. =/
