The BBC revealed today that their iPlayer video service will soon be available for the Wii. Currently the iPlayer allows those who live in the UK who pay the license fee for BBC service to be able to catch up on shows via the web. An early version of this service will be available today, but the BBC said there will be more polished versions on the way. This service will be accessible through the Internet Channel, though no Wii specific URL was given. A bulletin will go out announcing the service to Wii owners who remain in the dark about the news.
I’d love to see something like this come out for the US. Heck, I wouldn’t mind paying a fee to watch some programs available from the BBC as I’ve found their selection of shows is vastly superior.
