I actually really enjoyed it...seriously. I know as a movie, it was shit, but damn, I liked it a lot. Half my friends did, some didnt, but over all, I was pleased. It was so true to the cartoon, it was pretty much like watching a long live action cartoon.

I thought it was cool when I first heard of it ... maybe I’ll watch it later on DVD but I’m not going to the theater for it.  I’m 40 years old and Speed Racer is my childhood. Speed Racer wasn’t a nostalgia anime when I watched it in the mid-70’s, it was the coolest shit on TV (if you were 8yo). This show, Ultraman, and Star Trek were my afterschool best friends. So the best thing about it being made into a movie now for guys my age are the incredibly cool toys being sold ...

lol, you may have seen it when it first came out, but in the 90’s they played it all the time and I watched it all the time. While everyone else was watching Ren and Stimpy or something like that I was watching all the coll JP anime on TV.
